Connecting GitHub is one button, and the dashboard shows repository indexing
Onboarding no longer asks you to pick between a personal and an organization install before GitHub does. After the install we read every repository, and the workspace says how far along that is rather than asking you to go choose repositories.
Installing the GitHub App is already where you pick repositories, so there was
never a second place to choose them. What there was instead was a gap: we read
each repository in turn to learn what it is, and until that finished the
workspace looked empty and told you to manage repositories in Settings, which
would not have helped. Two changes close it. Every repository now lands in the
catalog up front, before the slower per-repository read, so a task delegated in
those first seconds is much less likely to resolve against a half-built list. And the
overview, the sidebar, and onboarding all show the progress while it runs.
Workspaces without Linear also stop being told to assign a ticket in Linear —
they now get the Sinatra label (sinatraai) instructions that actually apply to
them.
Getting there is shorter too. Onboarding used to ask you to choose between a personal account and an organization before sending you to GitHub, which is the screen that asks the same question and is the only one that knows which organizations you can actually install on. That choice is now a single button, and the accounts you see are the ones GitHub offers you.
