Linear members are matched to Sinatra accounts by verified email

Delegating a Linear issue no longer requires every member to link their Linear account first, when their Linear email matches a verified email on the GitHub account they sign in with.

Since 28 August a delegation from a Linear account that was never linked through Linear sign-in has been refused. We now try an email match first, when the Linear app is installed and again when an unmatched person delegates, and only a one-to-one match counts: an active Linear user, an email no other Linear user or Sinatra user shares, and a Sinatra account that is a member of this workspace. Anything ambiguous is skipped, and the person links their account by hand as before.

Owners can see every match under Linear in workspace settings, and members can see their own. An email match can be removed there, and we will not re-create it until that person connects their Linear account themselves. The dashboard's ticket list still needs your own Linear connection to show tickets assigned to you, and now offers a button for it in place of a pointer to Settings.
