Start tasks from your terminal, Claude Code, Cursor or a script
The sinatra CLI, an MCP server for Claude Code and Cursor, and an HTTP API hand work to Sinatra without a ticket, using a personal access token.
Create a token on the new CLI & API page in the dashboard, then install the CLI with npm i -g sinatra.dev or add Sinatra as an MCP server; the page shows the exact setup for each. A task started this way runs like any other: it gets a sandbox, can open a pull request, shows up on the dashboard, and counts against your plan's running and queued limits. Each person can have up to 5 of these tasks starting, running or queued at a time in a workspace; a sixth start is refused until one finishes its turn.
The MCP server takes the token as a bearer header and doesn't support OAuth yet, so Claude Desktop and claude.ai connectors can't connect to it; Claude Code and Cursor can. The conversation holds the agent's answers and questions, not its progress, and a message sent while a turn is running waits for the next turn instead of reaching the agent mid-run. You can also read and answer it on the task's page in the dashboard. The full reference is at docs.sinatra.dev/docs/cli-and-api.
